Mariya, noticing Pete's tense posture, leaned over and said, "You know, you don't have to be scared, Pete. We're all here to keep you safe." Pete's heart raced as they piled into the car, his eyes wide with a mix of excitement and fear. He clutched the duck tightly, its smooth surface a comforting reminder of home. The cool sand beneath his paws was soothing, and the waves lapped gently at his feet. Luna, elegant and graceful, stood by the water's edge, her eyes gleaming with mischief. She tilted her head, staring at Pete with an intensity that made his heart race. Just as he hesitated, Kirusha, the feisty Jack Russell, appeared, barking furiously. "Get away from my beach!" she snapped, before zooming off after a seagull. Pete watched her go, feeling a mixture of fear and admiration. He knew he had to overcome his fear if he wanted to play with Luna and make friends with Kirusha. With a courage he didn't know he had, Pete took a few tentative steps into the water. The coolness was soothing, and as he waded in, the waves seemed less scary. He looked back at his family, who were cheering him on. Mariya gave him a thumbs-up, while Roman mocked, "You're doing great! Try not to wet your fur!" As the sun dipped lower, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Pete felt a sense of accomplishment. He had faced his fear head-on, even if it was just a little bit. The beach, with its endless expanse of water and the warmth of his family by his side, seemed like a magical place. That night, as they drove home, Pete snuggled into Mariya's lap, contented.
